What this site is

DiFamilyTree is a private, invitation-only family website for the Hawthorne and Gaynor families. It exists so our relatives can record the family tree, share family history, and stay connected. It is not a public service, has no advertising, and never sells or shares data with third parties for marketing.

Signing in with Google

We use Google Sign-In only to confirm who you are. When you sign in, Google shares your name, email address, and profile picture with the site. We store your name and email so a family administrator can recognize and approve you. We never see or store your Google password, and we request no other Google account access of any kind.

What information the site holds

Family members voluntarily contribute genealogical information: names, nicknames, family relationships, dates and places of birth, life stories, photographs, and short voice recordings. Contact details (phone number, social media handles) are hidden by default and shown only to relatives you personally choose to share them with, or to the whole family if you switch that on yourself.

All of this is visible only to approved family members who have signed in. Nothing on this site is public.

Where data lives

Data is stored with Supabase (database and file storage) and the site is hosted on Vercel, both reputable infrastructure providers, protected by encryption in transit and access controls that limit every record to approved family members. Weekly backups are kept privately for the family’s own safekeeping.

Your choices

You may edit your own information at any time, keep your contact details hidden, and ask a family administrator to correct or remove anything about you. To have your account and personal information removed entirely, contact the site owner below and it will be done.
